RTLI provides free home safety repairs and accessibility modifications to income-qualified Long Island homeowners - helping seniors, veterans, and families remain safe and independent in their homes.

From installing grab bars to repairing unsafe stairs, our teams address handyman-type repairs that matter most for safety and stability.

Typical projects include:

  • Accessibility modifications such as ramps, grab bars, and handrails

  • Minor carpentry and home safety repairs

  • Tub to step-in shower conversion

  • Basic plumbing and electrical repairs

  • Weatherproofing to prevent drafts and water intrusion

  • Smoke and carbon monoxide detector installation

Repairs are provided at no cost to eligible homeowners.
